Akola Project was founded to empower women in extreme poverty to become agents of transformation in their families and communities.
Experience Uganda trips give goers the opportunity to witness firsthand Akola’s empowerment model at work and the transformations that have resulted. Experience Uganda goers will stay in Jinja, a town located on Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, goers will venture out to Akola’s vocational center and spend time with the women of the Project. Through participation in activities such as paper bead collection, village fellowship and empowerment programs, goers will get an inside look at the Akola’s dedicated work with its members. During the trip, some of the Akola women will open up their homes, sharing their stories and experiences at the Project with Experience Uganda goers.
