Akola’s ministry programs help cultivate each woman’s sense of dignity, reinforcing her ability to act as a successful provider and meaningful leader in her community. In a culture where women are so often treated worse than second-class citizens, Akola members can choose to engage in an uplifting community setting.
Each Akola member has the opportunity to meet once a month in a small group where they are encouraged to identify and focus on the strengths they see in themselves and their communities. Our team also incorporates World Vision’s Scripture Search model into the program design, allowing for deeper theological Bible study that encourages participants to share their experiences as they relate to a particular verse or passage. Ministry programs also serve as an opportunity for Akola to identify and cultivate strong leaders in our village programs.
