UAPO AKOLA PROJECT

The Akola Project was started as an extension of the Ugandan American Partnership Organization (UAPO) as an economic empowerment effort to lift over 150 women in rural villages out of poverty. The UAPO teaches local women to roll Akola necklaces out of paper and buys the necklaces from the women, giving them money to meet their basic needs.

UAPO MUKISA PROJECT

The UAPO Mukisa Project seeks to build a vocational training center in Northern Uganda to extend the Akola Project to women in displaced camps in Northern Uganda. The video tells the story of the war in Northern Uganda and highlights the displaced women who will benefit from the project.

The Ugandan American Partnership Organization (UAPO) is a non-profit founded to partner with indigenous communities to transform Uganda through sustainable development. Through partnerships, a community of fellowship is forged as we work, share, and connect with each other in the spirit of love.
